The Little Pink Slip

The little slip
In front of me
Is a blare of light I cannot see.
The little slip
In front of me
Is pink, a shade light, but not for me.

The little slip
In front of me
Is beside a pen, unwritten and untouched.
The little slip
In front of me
Melts my heart and makes me cry and weak.

The little pink slip
In front of me
Scares the living daylights out of me
Blessed father, bless my heart
It’s torn a million miles apart
